The entire Mazi family in Oguta Ameshi ,Oguta LGA,Imo state regret to announce the demise of their father,grand father, brother and friend, Charles.O.Mazi,(Charly Mazi) who slept in the Lord on April 8,2024.
Charly Mazi was a founding member of the Peoples Democratic Party in Imo state.
The Party grew stronger with his efforts in concert with then state chairman, Chief RBK Okafor(Eze Nwamadu),Chief ID Nwaoga and other prominent PDP eggheads in the state.
A release from the Mazi family informed that there will be a special football match in his honour, in the morning at the Dan Anyiam Stadium Owerri,on Thursday ,July 4, followed by Service of Songs/Night of Tributes later, same day at Sacred Heart Catholic Church Oguta at 5 P.m.
The release states also that the Funeral Mass will take place on Friday, July 5, at same Church after which, his remains will be committed to mother earth at his Oguta country home.
The release further informs that reception will take place after burial at Girls primary school Oguta.
The traditional burial rites/Ikwaozu will take place at his residence on Saturday July 6, followed by Outing/Thanksgiving Mass on Sunday July 7.
